Litgrid commences design work for the Harmony Link overland interconnector
Lithuania’s electricity transmission system operator, Litgrid, has signed a contract for the design work of the Harmony Link overland electricity interconnector with Poland. The appointed contractor will be responsible for preparing the main technical solutions and designing the key infrastructure elements of the interconnector on the Lithuanian side – a 220 kV transmission line and the Gižai substation.

Litgrid joined the European balancing energy exchange platform PICASSO
Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid has successfully accessed the pan-European Platform for the International Coordination of Automatic Frequency Restoration Reserves and Stable System Operation (PICASSO). Litgrid became the 13th electricity transmission system operator (TSO) to join the platform which enhances economic and technical efficiency integrating the European balancing markets and ensuring system security.

Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian Power Systems Disconnected from Russian IPS/UPS System
The electricity systems of the Baltic States have been successfully disconnected from the Russia-controlled IPS/UPS system and are now operating independently in island mode. Elering, Augstsprieguma tīkls (AST), and Litgrid, the electricity transmission system operators of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are now conducting an isolated operation test before synchronising to the Continental European grid.
