The last 50 kilometres of NordBalt cable will be soon laid to the seabed

During the month long work in 2015 the special vessel Topaz Installer laid more than 50 kilometers of HVDC cable NordBalt in the Baltic Sea. She is completing the laying of the second same length section at the moment. 
There’s been three incidents in March and April this year when the commands by the Russian military navy were received by the vessels involved in the NordBalt cable installation.

Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid submitted an application to the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme for partial funding of electricity interconnection with Poland LitPol Link.

20 April 2015 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed to agree on common power trading principles for the LitPol Link, the new Lithuania-Poland power interconnection planned to open in the end of 2015.

In March the electricity price was the lowest since the Nord Pool Spot have been launched in Lithuania in 2012.

Last 150 kilometres of NordBalt cable to be laid in the Baltic Sea

Today the NordBalt cable laying resumes in the Baltic Sea. The last 150 kilometres will be laid by the end of summer.

Litgrid calls shareholders meeting

An ordinary general meeting of Litgrid shareholders will take place on 24 April. The agenda includes the presentation of consolidated annual report and financial statements as well as the election of a new Supervisory Board member.

Litgrid and Lithuanian Ornithological Society launches a joint bird protection initiative

The Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid and the Lithuanian Ornithological Society have signed an agreement on the joint bird protection project. High-voltage overhead power lines are a frequent cause of death of migrating or breeding birds. To reduce such threats, the overhead power lines will be fitted with special markers and other bird protection measures, and nest boxes will be manufactured and mounted.

Litgrid Group financial results for 2014 announced

Litgrid Group reported an income of EUR 121.2 million for 2014, 29% lower compared to 2013. Income from electricity transmission accounted for 50% of the Group's total income - EUR 60.6 million.
