Litgrid calls shareholders meeting

An ordinary general meeting of Litgrid shareholders will take place on 24 April. The agenda includes the presentation of consolidated annual report and financial statements as well as the election of a new Supervisory Board member.

Litgrid and Lithuanian Ornithological Society launches a joint bird protection initiative

The Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid and the Lithuanian Ornithological Society have signed an agreement on the joint bird protection project. High-voltage overhead power lines are a frequent cause of death of migrating or breeding birds. To reduce such threats, the overhead power lines will be fitted with special markers and other bird protection measures, and nest boxes will be manufactured and mounted.

Litgrid Group financial results for 2014 announced

Litgrid Group reported an income of EUR 121.2 million for 2014, 29% lower compared to 2013. Income from electricity transmission accounted for 50% of the Group's total income - EUR 60.6 million.

Electricity consumption increased by 2 % in 2014

At 9.84 billion kilowatt hours (kWh), or 2.1 % more than in 2013, electricity consumption in 2014 has been the highest since 2009.

The last section of NordBalt submarine cable has been manufactured

The remaining section of the NordBalt submarine cable has been manufactured in Karlskrona, Sweden. The total length of the cable which will interconnect the power systems of Lithuania and Sweden is 900 km.

Common Baltic electricity balancing market – important step towards European integration

The transmission system operators (TSOs) of the Baltic countries have created a platform for a common imbalance settlement: since the start of 2015 differences between the planned and actual consumption of the electricity systems of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have been calculated jointly.

The first LitPol Link transformer arrives in Alytus

The first of the eight transformers for LitPol Link, a power interconnection between Lithuania and Poland, has been delivered to Alytus. Loaded on a special trailer it was transported overnight from Klaipėda to the  Alytus region, where a HVDC back-to-back converter station for LitPol Link is being built.

Litgrid did not violate the terms of regulated activities

Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid did not violate the terms of regulated activities and thus does not agree with the protocol of National Commission for Energy Control and Prices (hereinafter - the Commission) with regards to alleged violations.
