    Grid development

    Bitėnai switchyard

    On 30 December 2010, a 330 kV switchyard in Bitėnai (Pagėgiai Municipality) was connected to the national transmission system. Power transmission lines of Lithuania were joined together into a ring. This new infrastructure allows supplying electricity to Klaipėda region via equipment in the territory of the Republic of Lithuania. 

    In 2013, extension of the 110 kV switchyard in Bitėnai was started. This is required for ensuring reliability of the power supply in Pagėgiai district.
