For landowners

Litgrid (Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator) is in charge of the 110 kV and 330 kV (kilovolt) power transmission grid in the territory of Lithuania. The high-voltage power transmission grid consists of 4,966 km of 110 kV overhead lines, 1,672 km of 330 kV overhead lines, and 51 km of 110 kV underground cable lines.

Part of these lines have been built on private property. The rights and duties of the landowners as well as compensations for the construction of new lines in their property are governed by Lithuanian law. Anyone can check where there are high-voltage lines in relation to their home, at what distance, and what facilities are present in line safety zones in  REGIA, an online map database (a regional geoinformational environmental service). This information is useful for those who are  buying  land or plan construction. Checking the map ensures much more accurate territorial planning decisions.

We understand that maintenance and development of the overhead power transmission lines cause inconvenience to residents and landowners, and we strive to minimise it. Our aim is mutual understanding and cooperation in ensuring  smooth functioning of Lithuanian power transmission grid. Therefore, we work together with residents, elders and communities living in the vicinity of areas where the high-voltage power lines are already present, or will be built.
