How innovations are developed at Litgrid

Litgrid is a part EPSO-G, sharing  a common innovation strategy. We set ourselves targets based on the expectations of shareholders, society, employees, and the market.
 
In our daily work we create  effective innovation system where the ideas are heard, given the time to be analysed and tested, and then implemented and mainstreamed into everyday activities. We aim to contribute to the effective implementation of the group and the National Energy Independence Strategy.
 
The main goals and objectives of our innovation strategy:
 
Hear
 
  • Enable employees to come up with innovative ideas;
  • Allow external entities to submit innovation ideas.
 
Explore
 
  • Organise idea generation sessions, innovation workshops;
  • Establish and improve innovation development processes;
  • Establish partnerships with science, research institutes and businesses.
 
Implement
 
  • Allocate a budget for innovation development;
  • Establish a functioning incentive system;
  • Clearly define responsibilities for implementing the measures.
 
In line with the group’s strategy and in order to effectively manage the implementation of innovative ideas and projects, Litgrid has developed a detailed innovation mega process. It starts with the process of idea identification - while ideas are often born in the heads of our employees, we always welcome suggestions from our partners. The next step is the idea selection process, which takes place within the company. Ideas that pass the initial selection barrier are considered by an Innovation Committee made up of professionals from different fields. Once approved by the Innovation Committee, the innovative idea is funded and implementation begins. Finally, once the project is completed, the results of the innovative project are assessed.
