Isolated operation test of the Kaliningrad electricity system to be held over the weekend

Litgrid, the Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator, informs that a planned isolated operation test of the Kaliningrad power system will take place on Saturday, 24 September.

According to the Russian Federation's electricity system operator, the test will last 14 hours.

During this period, Litgrid will coordinate its activities with the operators of neighbouring countries and the test will not have a significant impact on the stability of the Lithuanian electricity grid.

Kaliningrad has so far carried out three isolated operation tests: the first in 2019 for 72 hours, the second in 2020 for 8 hours and the third in 2021 for 8 hours. Earlier this year, the planned test of isolated operation at Kaliningrad at the end of June was cancelled.
