In July the average price for electricity in the Nord Pool Spot Lithuanian bidding area was 23% lower than at the same time last year, reaching 44.3 EUR/MWh. Compared to June, the price of electricity rose 4 %.

Ten-year grid development plan: investments into integration and security of supply
Litgrid, the Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator, has prepared and submitted to the National Control Commission for Prices and Energy Ten-Year Network Development Plan for 2015 – 2024. National electricity consumption is estimated to grow by 2.6% annually on average and is expected to reach 13.9 terawatt-hours in 2024. The service and industrial sectors show the highest potential for growth in terms of power consumption.

The NordBalt cable has been laid in the Baltic Sea
The Topaz Installer cable laying vessel has finished her work. In just a year and two months, with short interruptions, she laid 400 kilometres of NordBalt cable onto the bottom of the Baltic Sea. 90% of the link construction works have already been completed.
