European Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC) Parties confirm successful 2nd wave go-live. Significant increases in traded volumes reported across the 7 countries which joined the SIDC coupling last week. Pan-European trading now in place across 21 countries coupled through SIDC. System is performing well.

European Single Intraday Coupling Solution and Local Implementation Projects confirm 2nd wave go-live date
European Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC) Solution and Local Implementation Projects confirm 2nd wave go-live date for 19th November with first deliveries on 20th November 2019. This confirmation follows completion of testing and preparation activities. Seven further countries to be coupled with the fourteen already operational. Clarifications on active borders provided.
Nominated Electricity Market Operators (NEMOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) confirm the go-live for the second launch of SIDC (formerly known as XBID). This confirmation follows the successful completion of testing. At the go-live all borders in the coupled 7 countries will be active apart from the Swedish/Polish border, which will be temporarily set to ‘inactive’ status, whilst outstanding issues are resolved. Multiple NEMO arrangements are implemented in Poland. Nevertheless, Nordpool EMCO, for the initial period from the 2nd Go-Live, will be the single shipper in Poland.

European Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC) Solution and Local Implementation Projects confirm 2nd wave go-live date for November 2019
Nominated Electricity Market Operators (NEMOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) confirm the target date for the launch of SIDC (formerly known as XBID) and the go-Live of 2 further Local Implementation Projects on 19th November with first deliveries on 20th November. This confirmation follows the successful completion of testing and the first Market Trial period. The November 2019 go-live date is still subject to completion of the required go-live preparation and launch activities.

LitPol Link company completed its mission. PSE and Litgrid will cooperate directly
Lithuanian electricity transmission operator LITGRID AB informs that PSE and Litgrid, the only shareholders of the LitPol Link subsidiary, decided to liquidate the company on 20 June 2019. The mission of the administration company – to implement the first Poland-Lithuania interconnection - was successfully completed: the interconnection has been successfully operating since 2016, when it started functioning. PSE and Litgrid, basing on the positive previous experiences, will cooperate directly on the construction of the second interconnection - the submarine cable Harmony Link.

XBID 1st anniversary and announcement of 2nd Wave Go-Live
XBID, the Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC) solution, is one year old today. Since the successful go-live on the 12th/13th June 2018 over 16 million trades have been executed. Expansion of the SIDC into seven further countries is expected in Quarter 4 2019.

Important agreement on connection to the European power system comes into effect
On 29 of May, Regional Group Continental Europe of the ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators, announced about signing of the interconnection agreement and technical terms and conditions of interconnection by the power transmission operators of Poland, three Baltic States and supporting countries, upon implementation of which – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia will become a part of the European power system.

New Polish-Lithuanian submarine HVDC cable – “Harmony Link”. Initial Cooperation Agreement signed
Today the Management Boards/CEO’s of Polish and Lithuanian Transmission System Operators, PSE and LITGRID, signed Initial Cooperation Agreement, being the commitment of both TSO's to undertake development activities in the Preparation Phase of the project of construction of new Polish-Lithuanian submarine HVDC cable. Also today the Management teams decided to name new interconnector as “HARMONY Link”.

XBID – 2nd Wave Go-Live and Changes in Gate Opening Time from 1st January 2019
Over 6.3 million trades completed in XBID. Expansion of XBID into further countries expected summer 2019. Harmonisation of Gate Opening Times from 1st January 2019 will be communicated locally by Transmission System Operators.
