NordBalt Power Interconnection Cable Laying Begins in the Baltic Sea
On April 11, 2014, the first meters of international power connection Nord Balt calbe were laid across the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The powerful and modern ship Topaz Installer started to work about 600 meters off Curonian Spit near Alksyne. With the help of a built-in lowering system, the first kilometers of cable were lowered from the ship’s stern. Through steel pipes, cables were pulled out on the Baltic Sea coast.
