Litgrid has announced the procurement of a Harmony Link interconnection cable

Implementing the largest synchronisation program project Harmony Link and preparing for the construction of the electricity connection between Lithuania and Poland, the Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid has announced the purchase of a 700 MW High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cable. The construction of this cable is a key part of the Harmony Link project.

Litgrid results of the first half of 2021: as the quantity of transmitted energy increased, the revenue grew by more than 10%.

During the first half of this year, the need for transmission of electricity services grew: compared to the same period last year, the quantity of transmitted electricity increased by 9.2%. During the first six months of this year, the revenue of the Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid amounted to 112,4 million and were 10.8% higher than at the same time last year. System reliability indicators kept on increasing.

Results of the public consultation on the market study of the electricity balancing reserves

On March 12, 2021, AS Augstsprieguma tīkls, together with other Baltic TSOs, - Estonia 's Elering and Lithuania 's Litgrid published a jointly developed electricity balancing reserve market study Baltic Reserve Capacity Market Study (hereinafter – the Study). Public consultation was launched inviting electricity market participants to express their views regarding the electricity balancing reserve market study.

Litgrid and PSE approved the investment decisions for the Harmony Link

Litgrid and PSE, transmission system operators of Lithuania and Poland, both have made the final investment decisions on the implementation phase of the Harmony Link interconnector project, a submarine power cable line between Poland and Lithuania.

TEPCO study provides recommendations for Baltic States on expansion of renewable energy sources by 2050

As Baltic States prepare to dramatically increase renewable energy production and generate up to 100% electricity from renewable energy sources by 2050, Japanese energy company TEPCO Power Grid Inc. analysed technical measures and economic considerations that need to be tackled. TEPCO’s feasibility study provided recommendations and specified minimum requirements for new converter-based generation in Baltic States.

The results of Litgrid for the first quarter of 2021: more electricity was transmitted, revenues increased by 15.8 percent, the system operated reliably

During the first quarter of this year the Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid transmitted bigger amount of electricity and increased the revenues of the company by 15.8 percent. The indicators of the transmission system were better compared to the same period last year.

Improvements to Baltic Power Systems Needed for Secure and Stable Synchronous Operation Will Be Evaluated in Synchronisation Studies

Three Baltic electricity transmission system operators, AS Augstsprieguma tikls (AST) from Latvia, AB Litgrid from Lithuania and AS Elering from Estonia, signed a service contract with consortium of the Continental Europe TSOs for preparation of 5 studies, with the goal to provide recommendations for upgrading the Baltic power systems equipment, automatics and protective schemes to enable secure and stable synchronous operation with the Continental Europe after 2025.

Litgrid Announced the Public Tender for Engineering and Construction on Two Synchronisation Projects

Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid today announced public tenders for design and construction of the 330 kV power transmission lines Darbėnai – Bitėnai and Kruonis HPP – Bitėnai. These lines are necessary to implement the strategic goal of Lithuania to achieve synchronisation with the Continental Europe Synchronous Area (CESA).
